Synopsis
Album Description With a career that spans nearly 25 years, IQ remains one of the biggest names in the world of Progressive Rock. Getting their start in Southhampton England back in 1981, IQ was often compared to two other great Prog bands from the UK, Marillion and Genesis. For years the band struggled to create their own identity. And they did so by outlasting the glory days of Fish?s Marillion and Gabriel?s Genesis. Here again is IQ with their classic line-up of Peter Nicholls, Martin Orford, Mike Holmes, John Jowitt and Paul Cook. After a few years away from IQ, Ever brought lead singer Peter Nicholls back into the fold for this 1993 release. The Genesis influences are still very strong and in fact this album gives a superficial idea of what Genesis might have sounded like if Gabriel had continued. Often considered both IQ's best work and one of the finest neo-prog albums, it is highly recommended to anyone lacking some original neo-prog sounds in their collection. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsIQ - Peter Nichols Big Comeback Steven Sly | Kalamazoo, MI United States | 05/25/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "After one album with record company Giant Polygram IQ were dropped and went on hiatus for a few years. Eventually the band got back together with original vocalist Peter Nichols and added bass player John Jowitt for this release. "Ever" is one of the band's best. They sound like a band with something to prove and everything about this album is classic IQ. The songs are all great, "The Darkest Hour", "Fading Senses", "Out Of Nowhere", "Further Away", "Leap Of Faith", and "Came Down" rank up with the best of IQ. The band has never sounded better, and Peter Nichols continues is vocal improvement. There is not much negative I can say about this one. If you like IQ or are into good neo prog this album is essential." They should call me Columbus ( part 2) NEOPROG RAN | EL PASO TX | 02/20/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Awesome band that continues the prog tradition. Essential!"
