"Notable mainly for being INXS first single with its new lead singer, ex- Noise Works Jon Stevens, and their first new material released in more than 6 years. Nobody could deny how difficult for the band itself and for anybody taking Michael's spotlight must have been; certainly a pair of shoes too big for anyone. This song was debuted on tour during 2003, and it certainly shows that INXS still got what it takes. With its catchy chorus, mechanic drum beats, and mixture of funk and rock, I Get Up has INXS trademark all over. Maybe not as strong as their all time hits, but still a great contender. Composed by the band mainman Andrew Farris and the new incredible singer Jon Stevens, this single doesn't take more than just one listen to become an instant favorite. INXS have showed the world in recent years that not many bands can touch them when it comes to live performances, let's wait for a new album with all new material to see if they are able to live up to their legend and expectations. The CD contains an additional remix and its edit courtesy of Rough Traders, responsible for the massive dance hit "One Of My Kind" (sampling "Need You Tonight"), that will make a great dancefloor anthem next year."
