Electronica for the open-minded

"Most electronica musicians today fall under the same repetitive lyrical/musical nonsense that has devolved the genre, but this group lacks all the pretensions that've made a mockery out of the use of synthesizers.
The lyrics are fun, but intelligent, and extremely creative ('Leon', for instance, is about a pet cat, but isn't a sugar-coated cutesy pop). The music is upbeat, not overproduced but not vacant or shallow, and overall this album, so far the only HB album I own, is very accessible for casual synthpop fans but also can be an equally admirable collection in anyone's library.
I also found out that HB is to release another album sometime in the future which I hope to get into along with their second album, providing that the music is as strong as this awesome debut."
A perfect synthpop experience !

"From the moment the CD kicks off with the lyrics "Mommy was a toaster, daddy was a blender..." you know you're in for a good time. Hyperbubble's music is bouncy synth-driven fun. The songs are short, tight and catchy. The female vocals bring to mind Blondie at their best. I was lucky enough to catch this duo live in St Louis and they were incredible! The keyboard player was crazy, doing karate kicks and dances that made Devo look static. This CD captures the energy and color of their live show. My favorites are "Vending Machine", "Psychic Connection", and "Leon", but every track on SOL!D POP is a winner.
If you're curious what Hyperbubble sounds like, you can find out at hyperbubble.net. They also have compilation releases in Italy, Sweden, Poland, England,France, and Germany. SOL!D POP is the best place to start, if you're looking for some great music to chew on that never loses it's flavor."
