"Although some of Hoyt's other albums are better, this one is definitely worth having. Jana Lee Dare cowrote Them Downers, and does a great job with Hoyt singing it."

"The product description provided by Amazon is incorrect. That description refers to Hoyt's superior 1969 album, My Griffin Is Gone. This pleasant but ultimately mediocre album came out in 1978. I used to own it on a double length cassette coupled with the similar sounding Snowblind Friend from 1977. If you took the best songs from those two albums, that grouping of songs would warrant four stars. Each album on its own deserves three stars a piece. If you like Hoyt, you're not going to go wrong with Free Sailin' but don't expect a masterpiece."
