The Tivens cover the spectrum of emotion with their songwrtiting for Howard. The uptemo lumpty lump 12 bar "First Class" is a fun song that will make you laugh as you imagine Howard enjoying his life in "First Class". The dark "Stalking My Woman"tells a magnificent story about a man insanely in love with his woman and his insane behavior demonstrating his inability to let her go. Howard Tate is a young man in his heart, soul, and singing voice. Howard is about 70 years old and was rediscovered about 8-10 years ago by Jerry "Rags" Ragovoy Philly songwriter of legendary status. Howard has resumed his recording career since his rediscovery and "Blue Day" is Howard's latest and among his best recordings to date. The recording "Blue Day" comes together with great material, great singing, and major league musicianship on all cuts. The production of the recording is first class recording art. The professional use of keyboards, wah wah pedal, harp and horns, guitars, and drums make the songs jump right in your lap. You just want to wrap your arms around the music and hold it real close.
