""I Commit To Love" was Howard's strongest album. With terrific songs such as "Stay", "Say Amen", "I'm For Real" and "In A Crazy Way", this CD should have been a major crossover hit. Sadly, it fell short of expectations but was nonetheless one of 1986's best urban R&B releases."
Why is this man not at the top of R&B charts today?

"Howard Hewett was the real talent in the group Shalamar and it's a shame his "star" did not rise to its full potential. I have always loved his voice and was heartbroken when Shalamar broke up. My all-time favorite song from Hewett is called "For the Lover in You." Does anyone have this album?? I want to buy it. God Bless you Howard Hewett wherever you are! With your talent, YOU DESERVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL!"

"Excellent. There's no other other word to describe this piece and this artist. I was introduced to this masterpiece by the track "I'm For Real" at 13 years old and have been a fan of Mr. Hewett ever since. He's the best artist I've ever heard with a voice so rich it's hard to imagine how he has'nt been given his due and this CD proves what I've just said."

"The first of many highly underrated albums by this wonderful artist. He is my favorite male singer and have all of his music. He is truly a R & B legend. But, his best to date is It's Time. It's a hard to find album in the states but, it is worth the price to get it over seas."
