"When I first seached Amazon for this CD, I came to a listing that said it was no longer available on Amazon, and the others making comments were complaining about that. So I purchased through Ebay for $9.60 (which included shipping). However, in the course of writing my review for Amazon I did find this CD in this location on Amazon. I don't know how I could miss it, but I did. Oh well. So I am including this review in both areas, in case others end up at that first spot I landed. However you go about getting this CD, keep in mind, there are 2 versions, with different narrators. One is the original version while the other is the 25th Anniversary edition. From what I could find, it appears that version may be missing a track. There is a detailed review about the original CD, available at [...]. In part, here is some info from that review.



"As the entire score only runs for just under 26 minutes, the music is presented twice - firstly with narration by character actor Bernard Cribbins reading extracts from the book, and secondly as an unbroken suite of narration-free music. Whoever took the decision to release the CD in this format should be unreservedly congratulated for their vision: not only does the two-half technique mean that you get a 50-minute CD, but you also get a choice of how to experience it. For those unfamiliar with the film, Cribbins' voice provides a welcome connection between the music and the on-screen action, while for those who wish to experience Blake's delicate touch and detailed orchestrations can simply skip forward to track 4 and indulge themselves."

"This is a "must have" CD for any music lover. I rank this as being equal with Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf". With or without the spoken word "The Snowman", the story and the music, is an all-time classic."

"Who doesn't like the story and the music from The Snowman? SO it is great to have the audio cd so can hear the music. The song that is so special to so many can now lull you or a young one to sleep. Love it."
