CD Reviews! lifeuntildeath | BOSTON. | 05/23/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "this isnt youre typical hot cross. this album opts for a more restrained formula for most of the album. the biggest change here is the addition of background singing. while somtimes it comes off as slightly cheesy and almost thursday-esque its almost always tasteful within the context of the song. fans of saetia or screamo in general should definitely pick this disc up." WHO SAIDS CHANGE IS BAD Michael Rumie | orlando, fl | 11/30/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "wow, hot cross blew my mind away. i first listened to hot cross and i was like damn. i first listened to fair trades and farewell and i couldnt belive how dueling guitars makes music so much different and wow, so UNIQUE. then i decided to listen to cryonics. i didnt like it at first because it didnt sound like fair trades. so i kept my head only in fair trades and farewells but thats when i decided to listen to saetia. now, i concider them the most unique and best band that has ever been out because they came out when the scene was only tough guy hardcore. they decided to put all that nonsense away and decided to create hardcore where u let nothing go away. u can tell vocals go as high as the can because they sing with there frikin hearts! well, saetia its so recommandable for those who are new to this music which i would say 90% of the overpopulated haardcore scene. but yea, then i listened to a new set of lungs and i found very good. its not there best stuff but u can tell how there music grew. then i bought the ep and then i decided to buy cryonics and now, i concider that cd the best one they ever created.
the secret to understand this music is by understanding their roots. saetia is their main root so go look for that first and then this cd. a dont be afraid of changing the music that u adore. its ok to let go of generic hardcore crap. love listening to new music....." |
