"If your looking for instrumental versions of Beatles songs, you found the right one, in fact the original and (as far as I know) the first to do so. They were recorded in the 60s, they're are just as fresh now as they were then. At one time considered to be "un-cool" to listen to. Well forget what your friends used to say when browsing through the department store in the record section circa 1967-68, then you'd sneak back later to buy it. Its here again and it will bring back memories. This is great stuff, my favorites on here are "P.S. I love You" "AHDN", "If I Fell", "No Reply", Michelle, "Penny Lane". But they are all well done for the most part.If you have a vinyl copy of the "The Beatles Story" on Capitol(Late 1964),they played some of these songs on there. All I can say is I'm glad I found the "Hollyridge Strings" CD, its well worth the money."
Where on where are the rest????

"Why cannot we have the rest. Like "The Hollyridge Strings Play the Beatles Songbook" volumes 1-3, or the whole collection as a boxed set? While I'm on the subject of the Hollyridge Strings, how about "The Hollyridge Stings Play the Beach Boys Song Book" by Perry Botkin and Mort Garson (Capitol again,), or if you want numbers: S2654, "Oldies But Goldies"; S2221 Hollyridge Strings play Hits Made Famous By Elvis Presley; S2156 "The Beach Boys Song Book; etc., or, especially Stu Phillips' The Hollyridge Stings and the Geororge, John, Paul and Ringo Songbook (Capitol ST 839) or anything by the Hollyridge Strings? C'mon guys...get into the vaults and feed us... the purists of Stu Phillips' and others' orchestral remakes of the greats. Dr. Scott McVittie smcvittie@utb1.utb.edu"

"I have read other reviews of this album and agree that it is great! I have most of the Capitol LP's of the Hollyridge Strings, including Elvis, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, and the Four Seasons, and I also hope that Varese Saraband can reissue the others in the "Songbook" series, at least "The Best Of...".The Young Sound of CBS-FM, which I used to listen to in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, as well as on American Forces Radio in Vietnam in the Navy in the late 60's, introduced me to this great orchestra performing popular hits, and I became "hooked". I wouldn't mind seeing the David McCallum Orchestra and George Martin's instrumental albums released on CD, also. The audio quality of this CD,I feel, is also superb, being, I assume, directly from the Capitol master tapes.I highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys popular instrumental music."
Superb instrumental CD!
