A New Favourite

""On Night" is warm and comfortable, like a midsummer evening after dusk when the birds and insects are singing and a soft, salty breeze is blowing from the beach. Holly Throsby has a rich, breathy but comfortable voice that is perfectly matched to her unique guitar and honest, easy lyrics. From the first time I heard "Things Between People" on the radio, I knew that this is a wonderful new sound that would immediately become one of my all time favourites. The entire album follows that same soft, gentle theme, with her voice and guitar constantly weaving her words into a warm fabric of feeling that is seldom found with new artists. "Up With the Birds" moves lightly from simple, folksy tune to a celebration of a bright, clear day that continues through the anticipation of "Waiting All Night for You to Come Home" to the cheerful conclusion of "Some Days Are Long" and the gentle "As the Night Dies"."
