"Hoi Polloi's Happy Ever After truly pushed the envelope for Christian Altenative bands of their time. In the span of two years this band evolved from a mostly pop group to a formidable grunge band. Tracks like Tip Toe and Boat showed a band full of intensity, blaring guitars and tight vocals while Big Fat Happy Day was more upbeat, a track on which Jenny Gullen's vocals come across as a harder edged Gwen Stefani. Overall this is one of the best Christian grunge-alternative albums of all time"
