"Bliss! Listen and experience a very new Japanese sense of beautiful music. Some might describe this as avant-garde, but even if think you don't like challenging music, don't be put you off. Tzadik has an amazingly diverse catalog of "New Japanese" music, and this is like nothing else. It is immediately beautiful--not at all what Laurie Anderson calls "difficult music." Indeed, at times the CD reminds me of Anderson's song "Ko Ko Ku" from "Home of the Brave." I've been a fan of Yagi Michiyo (the koto player on this CD) for a few years now, and here she tends toward the mood she develops on her solo CD, "Shizuku" (also on Tzadik and HIGHLY recommended). If you're a fan of free jazz or would just like to hear something new and outside the box, pick up this CD. Expand!"
