"i admit it, i've been binge-ing for the past six months....on 60s jamaican ska and rock steady. i can't git enough of its simple rhythms, tastey horn lines, and overall smooth feel. this album, as the title suggests, is all about the early sounds of jamaican two, three, and four part vocal harmony. i've yet to come across another compilation which includes any of these tracks. if you're like me and are digging deeply for new music from this window in music history, pick up this record for your collection; you too will dig it deeply!"
Sweet tracks that maybe you haven't heard before.

"Many of the best Reggae albums from the late '70s and early '80s are the compilations. "The Harder they Come", the Mango compilation discs "98 degrees in the shade" and "Jammin" and the "Rockers" soundtrack albums are all great records, but there tends to be a lot of overlap in the songs among them. This one is different. Alternatingly stridently political and disarmingly quirky/sexy these are 10 songs that I hadn't heard anywhere else, although I immediately felt that I had. Artists not listed on the Amazon page are The Wailing Souls-with a Marley sound-a-like singer, Israel Vibration, as Irie as anything doing Give I Grace, and the Abbysinians with a soulful mournful Leggo Beast. Get this album."
