"You know, there are times when people become a little gushy over the early works of the artists that they have fallen in love with. I might have been guilty of that a few times in my life. I proclaimed loudly and frequently to anyone that will listen: "I discovered these guys waaaaayyyy before you were listening to them", back when they weren't chock full of guest artists and stuff.
I mean, this is a great album by anyone's standards, but it sounds pretty raw by comparison with the Herbaliser's later works. Not your standard hip hop, with the Ninja Tunes influence far more apparent in this album. A bit clever, in an undergraduate sort of way.
Still, great music and a must for lovers of UK hip hop history."
