"This EP is sort of different to their debut album, Rabbit Songs, in a weird way I guess it's less mournful and definitely more cheerful, the band sound like they are enjoying paying tribute to their heroes..Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash and Randy Newman. They're all great cover selections it has to be said, but they enjoy that special Hem sound provided by the renowned musicianship of Dan Messé, Gary Maurer and Steve Curtis. (Singer Sally Ellyson has a voice that my words wouldn't do justice). So these songs are as enchanting and delightful as all of their other records. I particularly like the dreamy cover of Johnny Cash's 'Jackson' which is brilliant anyway, but a nice tribute to the Man in Black - enjoying a rennaissance of late.



Be warned however, people will be stealing this CD off you after they hear you playing it, so be prepared for coffee stains and scratches. Otherwise prepare to burn them a copy - because this is a special EP by a special unique band and you'll want to keep it mint condition."
