Brilliant sophomore release !

"Hellbound Glory certainly does not suffer from the dreaded sophomore jinx with this their second album. If you've heard their debut release "Scumbag Country" of 2008 you will be pleased as well by all the 11 new tracks plus a cover of a Hank Williams classic. The excellent lyrics of Leroy Virgil are again of the "thinking-man's" roadhouse variety. The song arrangements are fresh and the superb musicianship is second-to-none; the chops are traditional, yet modern. Production is at the highest standard as well. The school of alt.country, Americana, or whichever name you prefer is exciting and is keeping music growing and alive. "Old Highs and New Lows" pushes the envelope further. I look very much forward to hearing their next record. If you get a chance to see Hellbound Glory do not pass it up. They are a great live act, and their two records accurately capture their high-energy hardworking performances of their great songs."
Leroy Virgil - The Rowdy Poet

"When I first heard "Old Highs and New Lows" I was blown away by the songwriting sophistication. Leroy Virgil can turn a phrase with the best in the business. I was expecting them to be in the same vein as Hank III and others in the outlaw/alt-country genre, but their musical range and depth of lyric puts them a step above. "Slow Suicide" is reminiscent of Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Coming Down," but they still bring the party with songs like "Hank Williams Records" and "Gettin' High and Hittin' New Lows." That's why I have dubbed Leroy Virgil "The Rowdy Poet." He is like a cross between Kristofferson and Hank Jr. Big fan of this band and I think their future is very bright!"

"Pretty solid second album from these guys. Standout tracks for me are "Another Bender Might break Me" and "In The Gutter Again"."
