CD ReviewsProto Industrial Moog Assault! Michael O'Hagan | Eureka, CA USA | 04/29/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "Lead by Richard Pinhas, French group Heldon produced the most powerful music of the 70's electronic scene with the classic analog synths being played in an aggressive style predating the electro/industrial movement of the 80's. Interface dates from 1977 and combines dark Moog rythms with Pinhas' greatguitar playing. The best band from France next to Magma" Inyerface Chromefreak | 04/01/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Sadly underrated, this monolithic slab of metal machine music from Paris circa 1978 can still deliver the goods. Richard Pinhas' roaring guitar is flanked by Patrick Gauthier's powerful Moog bass and Francois Auger's colossal drumming. "Jet Girl" and the 19-minute title track will fry your synapses and sear your brain stem. After a quarter of a century, still my favorite Heldon album. The cover says it all: a reptilian space cadet with chromium helmet. "Interface" is definitely inyerface." Heldon - 'Interface' (Cuneiform) Mike Reed | USA | 05/02/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "Originally released in 1976, looks to be Heldon's fourth effort. It's been noted that 'Interface' shows off the true intellectual musicianship of Richsrd Pinhas. Have to pretty much agree with that. Liked the ten-minute "Jet Girl" as well as the intricate "Bal-A-Fou". Also was impressed with the CD reissue's last three tracks - "Interface, Part 1", "Interface, Part 2" and the nineteen-minute complex title cut "Interface". Line-up: Pinhas-synthesizer, guitar & moog, Patrick Gauthier-keyboards, Didier Batard-bass and Francois Auger-synthesizer & drums. A should-have."
