"Hector Lavoe was one of the greatest salsa soneros ever and this 2-CD set has many of his big hits and classics. The liner notes are also very informative and say a lot about his life and career. Despite his tragic death ( he died of AIDS in 1993) his musical legacy is nothing short of amazing. No one collection could do an artist of "El Cantante"'s importance full justice, but this is a great compilation."

"Despite it being more than 10 years old this double CD still sounds amazingly fresh and vibrant. Having first heard Hector Lavoe on Yahoo's Launchcast (can i say that on here?) i was so impressed with the two tracks i have heard that i took a chance & purchased copy.



Well.. I can only say "WOW" :)



The harmonies and rythyms will leave you with chills if you are salsa fan. Personally i found the tracks getting better and better as you progress thru the two disks, but there is not one dud track on either CD. Also with the duration of the tracks running anywhere up to 10 minutes it really does take you on a musical journey. A great CD either to dance the night way too or sit back and dream of saltry nights in the latin quarter.



You wont regret purchasing this one. Gorgeous!"
