H.M.P is Heavy Metal Poetry. A 4 Piece band of 19 and 20 year olds from the Snoqualmie Valley in Washington who are quickly becoming a top drawing Seattle metal act. The band started as Sophomores in High School back in 2002 but after their reputation for rowdy crowds and broken venues spread throughout the Snoqualmie Valley, they were forced to take their unique breed of old school heavy metal westward, to Seattle and Tacoma.
Bringing the Killer live show with them, They broke into the Seattle Metal scene in 2004 opening for Metal Church at Studio 7 in Seattle. The quartet has since shared the stage with such modern metal heavy hitters as Origin, Vader, Malevolent Creation, Dew Scented and Animosity, and have even begun headlining their own Seattle shows. The band has also recently played with Thrash legends EXODUS and Ozzfest 2006 act Full Blown Choas on the Seattle stop of their US tour.
H.M.P has played at such Seattle venues as Studio 7, El Corazon, The Experience Music Project, The Premier and the Fenix Underground just to name a few and their Self financed and released Demo Heavy Metal Poetry Still sells out no matter how many they decide to make and has recieved radio airplay on 99.9 KISW and 104.9 Funky Monkey, Tacoma and Seattles two biggest rock radio stations .
With the recording of their first full length album coming up this summer and its release somewhere in early 2007, and the bands following growing daily via internet word of mouth, theres no telling whats in store next for the band that many have dubbed "The return of old school Heavy Metal".
