Only way to review the film right now

"'Gegen Die Wand' (Head-On) was nominated for every conceivable award in European film and is finally showing up here Stateside in quality film houses in selected cities nationwide. We saw it yesterday here in the Dallas area on its opening weekend, and the only thing to say about it is: it deserves every ounce of ink spilled over it. Not since 'Breaking the Waves' has a movie captured someone's downward spiral in such jawdropping honesty. Except here, you get not one, but two separate instances of a character plumbing the depths of 'how low can you go?'
Unfortunately, there's no way on amazon as of this writing to review the film directly (hasn't even shown up in the usually reliable 'Movie Showtimes' area), so I've had to sneak in through the side door via the soundtrack, which itself is worthy of note. An unlikely mix of traditional Turkish song (set in the movie on Istanbul's famous waterfront) and punk (lead character 'Cahit' is depicted loosely as punk's last holdout), the music propels the film along and gives it a lot of its energy and its all-important feel of extreme culture clash. Definitely worth checking out."
Love the music!

"This soundtrack is really cool! I love the mix of Turkish and European music, and the fact that I can dance to it, or be still and be moved. Beautiful work, Mr. Akin!"
