WONDERFUL EARLY HAYDN
Melvyn M. Sobel | Freeport (Long Island), New York | 06/30/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)
"These "early" efforts of Haydn, too often overlooked because they are considered inconsequentially "youthful," are more like symphonic concertante works, uniquely incorporating wonderful solos from a good majority of various instruments of the orchestra--- all quite imaginative and delicious. For those, like me, who find most of Haydn's symphonies rather monotonous, these three beauties will give sheer pleasure. Good recording, good playing from all, and very well conducted by Lizzio.
