"Hasil Adkins was the real thing. For fourty years, he blasted away, even though no one cared. He had little talent, no feel for time signatures, and pretty much made up the songs as he went along, even the cover versions. Still, the spirit he threw into his music was as pure and dirty as rock and roll can get. The title of this disc is a little misleading, though. This is not a collection of recordings from the course of his long career. From the voice and the sound of the recordings, they were all made during a short time near the end of his life. To balance it out, you might want to take a look at something with his earlier songs. Either way, it is guaranteed to put a smile on your face."
