"I'm a huge Simpsons fan- I'm a huge Hans Zimmer fan, when I first heard the two would combine- my first thought was, "Why Hans Zimmer?" Alf Clausen does an amazing job on the show, and Danny Elfman's theme song is one of the most recognizeable themes and songs ever- but I must say the score is impressive. It has a 90's family comedy feel to it. It bounces, it really complimetns the movie VERY well and was a big surprise to me. The soundtrack is just amazing, and the Choral version of "Spider Pig" is nothing beyond genius- to hear an Acappella choir singing Spider Pig (an extended version of the one heard in the movie) is magic and hilarious. The soundtrack is a must have.
The box, unfortunatly Is NOT worth the price. The picture is VERY misleading- the donut pictured looks almost edible. The Donut I received looks like Dark pink Plastic with Dark colored Sprinkles- it's much shorter than the picture would have you believe- and it doesn't even have a hole in it!! Add to that the fact that you're actually paying ALL THAT extra money for cheap plastic casing and a box. The box is a nice gift box, but that's about it. I sort of expected something a little better made- something not so shiny- perhaps a matte finish on the frosting- but all I got was a shiny plastic case. Even the booklet offers nothing new, the exact same booklet as the regular soundtrack
My advice, unless your the ultimate Simpsons fans, then this is a must own, unless you're that fanatic about it- and even if you ARE that big a fan- it's definilty NOT worth the money. Buy the regular soundtrack."
Soundtrack is good, case is not worth it

"As others have stated, the donut case is a complete joke. My problem with it is not that it's cheap. My problem is that it doesn't even stay snapped shut. The lid just slides on and very loosely. So besides being cheap, it doesn't even do the one job it's supposed to. For a cheap piece of plastic, it wouldn't have been hard to make it work as a case.
The soundtrack is good, but not Zimmer's best. There's some touches of excellence, but some other pieces that will be forgetable.
I'd give 4 stars for the score, and 2 for the packaging. The case is not worth the extra money"
The Donut does not look yummy at all

"The sound track is all right. But the CD case is disappointing. It's cheap looking, like something from a 99cent store. There is no hole in the donut, and the color is more fuchsia than pink. I was expecting something as yummy looking as the real donuts sold in 7-elevens and this is not it. The cardboard box is cute though."
Exceptional Classical Music

"This is classical music and a traditional film score - not songs sung by the characters. This is what I was expecting when I bought it based on other reviews on Amazon, and I was totally delighted. The score, the musicianship, and the recording are all exceptional. Move over John Williams - let's hear it for Hans Zimmer! (And I love John Williams). Track 14, a 60-second choir rendition of Spider Pig is worth the price of the CD, IMHO. If you saw the movie and stayed for the credits, you heard this wonderful choral piece near the end. Wow."
Donut is great!

"I on the other hand bought it not knowing there was a donut and was excited to find it! The music is good classical soundtrack type music, BUT! It doesn't have any dialogue snippets or Homer singing spider pig, which is why I bought it in the first place!"
