"This is a must for the serious Hank Williams collector. This rare and out-of-print c.d. was produced as part of an 8-volume set during the late 1980s and early 1990s by PolyGram. Years later, Mercury Records was in possession of the Hank Williams catalogue and produced the 10-Volume THE COMPLETE HANK WILLIAMS (1998). The trouble is, 33 of the tracks on this 8-volume PolyGram set never made it to the COMPLETE set.On this c.d., you will find four (4) tracks which can be found on no other c.d.:
(1) the alternate studio version of "Crazy Heart," which cruises along great until the end, when Hank seems to lose his bearing and the song falls apart;
(2) an alternate demo version of "Jesus Died for Me," sung only by Hank and without his wife, Audrey;
(3) an alternate demo version of "Are You Walkin' and Talkin' for the Lord," performed with the Bailes Brothers, and which concludes with Hank commenting "I believe there's another verse back there somewhere...."; and
(4) an overdubbed version of "My Main Trial is Yet to Come," with Don Helms' recognizable steel guitar. Are you a serious Hank Williams collector? Then, look for a copy of this, burn the four rare tracks, and re-sell it so others can enjoy the tracks."
