"I never liked Hank's music after Davis, finding it too meaningless, and second tier, and I thought he was recorded so much by Blue Note because of his connection to Davis. Until I heard this. While I don't like all of this outing, there are many great solos that go on and on, like Mobley's mind was filled with thoughts and he had the skill to express them to the listener. Green is great, too, and although he messes a few notes here and there, he's in top form, especially for such a young guy. Needless to say, but I will, the rhythm section is hot, keeping Hank and Grant on their toes, while stimulating their grooves away from cliche and any hint of tiredness. If you ever wondered why Coltrane suggested Mobley as a replacement, listen to this. There's no pop."

"What a great album. Mobley sax frases are premium quality, a delight to hear. Wynton Kelly at piano works explendid with Mobley aswell Paul Chambers at Bass, Philly Joe Jones, for me, over plays a little. This album is a classic, a must have for Jazz lovers."
