"The album "Our Kind of Soul" featuring three original songs and 14 R&B covers is due out on October 26, 2004, so if you like any of the songs from this CD-single, it will be worth getting the album.
"I'll Be Around" is a good remake of The Spinners song. I suspect those who haven't heard the original will like this one. It will stay in your mind all day and is currently rising up the Adult Contemporary charts.
The original "Let Love Take Control" is good but not what I would call a 'signature' Hall & Oates song.
Finally, "You Are Everything" is a cover of The Stylistics song from the early 70's.
All the songs feature light, non-ostentatious production and Daryl's unreproachable vocals.
Honestly, if this weren't a Daryl Hall & John Oates single, I wouldn't have bought it. Here's hoping the album gets me moving the way they usually do.

"I own most of Hall and Oates albums. Can't get enough. I waited patiently for this album and I can't understand why it isn't on top of the charts. I really love this one. "Rock Steady" is the best. I can't wait to see them live doing this one. The whole band is just great. "What you see, is what you get" is also done so well." My girl" will rock your world. I enjoyed this one and listen to it every day. "I'LL Be around" will stay in your mind all day. I was so glad H@O did this one. Hope they continue to bring their sound to the oldies."

"What a tantailizing preview of Daryl & John 's forthcoming album.
"I'll be Around-Daryl & John do an excellent cover of this Spinner's classic.
Let Love Take Control- An upbeat orginal with a good message.
You Are Everything: Daryl's falsetto is right on the mark and the harmony that Hall and Oates' fans have come to love and expect."

"Wow! What a great lead single! Glad to see Hall & Oates making new music again. Love the way they redid the instrumentation, makes the cover songs sound fresh again."
