Halford Unleashes His First Live Album In Nearly 7 Years

"Just in time for the Halford reunion, Rob's Metal God Entertainment has released Live In Anaheim, the first live album from Halford since 2001's Live Insurrection, and once again, the results speak for themselves. Like Live Insurrection, this showcases Halford, Fight, and Judas Priest songs performed live, but with the Priest material dominating the set with classics such as Painkiller, Rapid Fire, White Heat Red Hot, Breaking The Law, and Hellion/Electric Eye. Halford songs include Resurrection, Made In Hell, Golgotha (one of my favorite Crucible tracks), Handing Out Bullets, Sun, and One Will. Only 1 Fight song (Into The Pit) is featured along with Light Comes Out Of Black which was performed by Pantera with Rob singing. This was recorded during the Crucible era back in 2003 in Anaheim, California with some bonus tracks recorded in Japan. The one question a lot of fans probably have on their minds is "does the audio hold up compared to Live Insurrection?" In a way, I think it sounds better. Live Insurrection is an amazing live album even after it was recently remastered, and it remains as one of my favorite live albums. Live In Anaheim instantly blows it away, and I'm glad that it sounds that good after being somewhat disappointed with the sound quality of Rock In Rio III. I know that it was basically a bootleg with remastered sound, but it could have been better. Thankfully Live In Anaheim doesn't sound like that. The new lineup is amazing. Producer Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Tribe Of Gypsies) took over Pat Lachman's guitar spot, and not only does he nail every perfectly, but he makes it sounds 10 times better, and bassist Mike Davis (replacing Ray Riendeau) helps tighten up the rhythm section. Did I also mention that the guitar tone is sick? I could go on, but I'll let you check this out.

Also check out the dvd version of this release coming in August, and Crucible (Remixed And Remastered) July 13."

"This is true live metal. Amazing set list, incredible performance, the greatest vocals ever and the greatest riffs ever. The sound quality is second to none and this is one you don't want to miss, can't wait for Halford's next album."
