Amazon.comFor this 1993 outing, Half Pint--by now grown to at least full quart-size--bounces his clear "youthman" tenor off crisp dancehall jams provided by the High Times band with reggae's sax legend, Dean Frazier. Lead track "Give Me Some Loving" makes a promising start. "Mr. Landlord" and "One Ghetto" are brilliant examples of Half Pint's gift for rendering sonic-perfect sketches of ghetto realities, and he turns in a sweetly funky cover of "If I Had a Hammer." "Mary Longtongue" is another winner, despite the weird title. But the rest of the tracks find this '80s reggae dancehall sensation passing off retreads of whatever worked before. --Elena Oumano
