"Legend has it that this is the loudest CD ever recorded.



Its not true (Iggys remix of the Stooges "Raw Power" is at least a little louder, to my ears anyway), but becuase of the production, it does SOUND really loud.



Guitar Wolf are a totally awesome punk/rockabilly/garage band that go for an all out attack on every album. Its a pure rock 'n' roll experience like no other.



The music is SO loud and SO distorted and SO in the red it can be hard to listen to for those who only listen to more radio oriented fare. (just listen to the samples, and you'll know what I mean), but there's so much POWER in what they do, the first time you hear it its just incredible.



The bass and drums are just a-chuggin' along like a freight train on Red Bull, the guitar is loud and crazy and all the solos sound like Seiji's getting electrocuted everytime he touches the guitar strings. Also, the vocals, which are sometimes Japanese, sometimes English, sometimes both and almost always virtually unintelligible are screamed with the passion of a man having his soul ripped from his body.



Its not all just over the top noise, though, the songs do have some solid hooks under all the chaos, so even if the amps was turned down and sound was cleaned up, you'd still be getting some great music. "Ca-Na-Na Fever," "Gakulan Rider," "Shimane Slim," and the title track will have you singing along even if you don't know any Japanese.



In short, I've often heard that the greatness of rock 'n' roll is the danger and fire of the performance. If thats the standard, Guitar Wolf is perhaps the greatest rock 'n' roll band of all time."

Roars to life with unprecedented force.

"Exploding out of the gate with the most reckless sonic assault imaginable, Guitar Wolf destroys everything in its path. This album is the epitome of that destruction.



If you have 'Golden Black' you will recognize seven fantastic songs on here, but that in no way should stop you from picking this record up. As a whole it is very cohesive; showing Guitar Wolf at its most confident, most focused, and most LOUD... or loudest, whatever.



Aside from the 'greatest hits' songs 'Jet Generation' features the groovy 'Cosmic Space Girl', and wildly noisy 'Cyborg Kids'. The hidden gem of this album, however, is the ferociously addictive bulldozer that is 'KUNG FU RAMONE' "
