"If you close your eyes and turn this up, it feels like you are at a club. This album personifies smokey blues with groove. If you are looking for an album that you can really rock out to, this is definitely it."
It Ain't Where Your From....

"The Guitar Pete Blues Band has been around for awhile. Like some fine aged burbon they just get better with time or like a shot of cheap hooch they give you that feelin that somebody gave you a good kick in the ass. If you love the Blues your gonna get a big slice with a lot of different flavors. Slow and steamy, rollicking and raucaus and lowdown and dirty. Pete plays his ass off on this disc, the rhythm section slinks and kicks the hell out of things in all the right spots. Blues from New York? It ain't where your from...it's where your at."

"Okay, so the title of this review makes a person wonder about Guitar Pete. Except for a fairly ho-hum version of Mustang Sally, the rest of this CD has some pretty damn good blues and jump music on it. Pete plays a pawn shop Aria guitar (relatively cheap), he plays the right-handed guitar left-handed . . . and he still makes the darned thing sing! Pete pulls tones from that guitar that run anywhere from a chain saw at full RPM to a sad lady's soft crying moan. Sit back and listen to "Hear the Rain." Pretty powerful stuff."
