"I am not a fan of dancehall music. For whatever reason the great reggae sounds of the 70's that included the likes of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh have grown up to become some type of perverse disco music. Now if you want good old reggae (now termed reggae roots) you have to look somewhere other than the Caribbean. And Groundation, a band out of California is a good place to start. They have captured the old reggae vibe many of us love so well. Their latest album infuses jazz hooks and sounds that work well while maintaining the true reggae sound. This is not some garage band playing covers. These are original tunes done the way reggae should be done. Anyone who has a Marley CD (and who doesn't) should consider adding Groundation to the mix. You won't be disappointed."
