Product Description

The Grifters recorded the dark, desolate, and romantic Eureka E.P. during a particularly cold Memphis winter 1995 during after-hours late nights and early mornings in the back room of Memphis' Shangri-la Records. Being removed from a traditional, by the hour studio allowed the Grifters to take their time and experiment with a new, different direction for their fourth record, an e.p.. Hence, the Eureka E.P. showed the Grifters completely busting out of their lo-fi indie rock genre and entering a new consciousness of songwriting that superseded the confines of their previous indie rock releases.

"i would barely dare to write a review, but i felt any grifters fan out there that didn't have this ep needed apprising. the first song, eureka iv, is by far my favorite grifters tune (i've been listening since crappin you neg). it's so beautiful, and never fails to strike an emotional chord in me, even after all these years. buy it if you don't have it already"
