Product DescriptionLeaving a show at midnight, driving down a one-lane road with shoddy cell phone reception, and feeling good with sixty dollars in his pocket, Griffin Anthony, like any true artist, is unable to leave his work behind him. Whether he s scribbling down music notations or just humming a melody in his head, his passion for the music he creates is compelling. Based in New York, 26-year old Griff has continually made strides in creating a name for himself in the music world. His self-titled EP debuted in August 07 and received an outpouring of positive and encouraging reviews, building up to the release of his first full-length album Crazy Ways in January 10. Although the venues continue to diversify and increase in size, Griffin can still be found in the most intimate of club settings playing his signature sound - an intriguing blend of soul/pop, which he calls Acoustic Soup. Within each of his songs, there s a fluid ease with words, a reserved confidence, and a self-conscious wit that sets him apart from other contemporary singer-songwriters. Griffin also brings something else refreshingly different to the table: honesty. Truth be told, he doesn t have the lofty ambitions of saving the world through his lyrics or curing life threatening illnesses with a dramatic and stirring guitar ballad. Griff s only aim is to simply tell a story and give you a vivid snap shot of the human condition as he sees it, leaving his listeners with the feeling they ve stumbled upon something truly authentic. His ability to hold on to his genuine candor despite his expanding fan base and growing success makes him a rare find and speaks not only to his talent as a musician, but also his sincerity as an artist. An anomaly unto himself, Griffin never ceases to surprise his audience. How many people do you know who off-handedly mention that they could have played professional baseball? Or proudly admit to watching re-runs of 7th Heaven shortly after quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson? It s things like this that keep listeners coming back for more, giving him a growing global popularity and inspiring him to create an ever-increasing catalog of songs. Griff is one of the few independent artists able to break through onto Pandora Internet Radio and amassed 23,000 plays in his first month after signing a deal with Jango Internet Radio. Extending his professional endeavors beyond music, he was approached in 2010 by acclaimed high-end fashion designer, Travis James, to represent his line (Tora Clothing). On his most recent work (Crazy Ways), Griffin teamed up with Grammy-winning Charles Dye and Grammy-nominated Dan Geary to record the 10-track album in Nashville, New York, and Miami. Griffin s song, Let Go, caught the ears of Emmy-winning filmmaker Nelson Cabrera and, shortly after, they both shot the video for the hit single. After signing with BMI and Orange Music Publishing, Griffin found a steady place on the Clear Channel charts with his songs Let Go and Sleepy Sunday. Ranked as the #1 Unsigned Blues artist in the State of Florida by Myspace Top Artists Charts in July of 2009, Griffin s quickly broken down the barriers of the Southeast US and has begun to make his mark on the industry. Widening his sphere of influence to a more diverse audience, his single, Sleepy Sunday, was recently featured on ABC in their Fall 2009 programming. That s just one of the many ways Griffin s begun to get his name out there, as well as having performed live on CBS morning news, and sharing the bill with acts such as James Taylor, David Cook, Citizen Cope, Matt Nathanson, The Steve Miller Band, Weezer, Five For Fighting, and Ben Harper.
