"I bought "Popular Demons" because of Buddy Miller's involvement, but found that the singing, performances, and songwriting were all top-notch. This is a CD I listen to frequently. The performances match the songwriting. Mr. Trooper does not overreach. His singing is understated and he lets the song melodies tell the stories as much as the lyrics do. Frequently reminds me of Slaid Cleaves. "Bluebell", "22 Miles to Bristol" and "Paradise" work especially well for me. I purchase his most recent--"Straight Down Rain"--and to me the songwriting, singing and overall performances are not as strong. Makes me treasure "Popular Demons" all the more."
Absolutely Wonderful!

"WHY does this artist remain relatively "unknown" (?) except by old friends and followers who have to scavenge on line in the hope that there is something new from this wonderful voice and song-writing talent. Guess it's like truffles--you have to dig for the true delicacies."
The best of Country, Western and folk.

"Greg is a one of a kind singer/songwriter. From the simple "Blue Bell" to the interesting perspective given in "21st Century Boy" these songs are spoken from the heart and mind.A consumate artist. Greg can put out an interesting and thought provoking album. His live shows are amazing. Few artists these days put in as much effort an energy as Greg does in a live performance. He is a must buy and a must see."
