Synopsis

Product Description
Rott N Roll has become the phrase of choice for Grayson Capps fans to use in describing his music. It expresses the raw energy of Graysons songs--a mix of roadhouse rock, southern soul and country blues with tales of prostitutes, alcoholics, drifters and paranoia. On his fourth album, Grayson and his band The Stumpknockers churn and burn harder than ever. Raucous numbers like Big Black Buzzard, The Sun Don t Shine On Willy and Going Back To The Country are instant classics in his repertoire. Yet a more introspective side is also on display with two of the most personal songs the singer-songwriter has written to date: Arrowhead and Guitar. Having drawn comparisons over the last few years to the likes of Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt and Drive By Truckers, Rott N Roll proves that Grayson s vision is ultimately as singular as those to whom he s compared.

CD Reviews

Another great album.
Michael Dunn | Dirty Jersey | 11/11/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Grayson Capps has quickly become a staple in my cd player. This album has a few songs(my favorites are tracks 5 & 7)which I really love.Grayson is a masterful storytelling-type songwriter and a phenominal vocalist. Some of the songs on this cd I skip right over though, a little to silly, a little to country for me.I dig his more bluesy, classic rock sounding guitar work and rhythm."

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Four and a half stars actually but let's not quibble. This is after all a new Grayson Capps cd.

Two things however. Gran Maw Maw sounds like an outtake from the Seeger sessions. Not good.

And Bacon starts out allright but really doesn't go anywhere after that.

No worries. All the other songs and the poem rate six stars so it evens out.

Fantastic new album. Go get it now!"
