"So you know a group is going to be special when the first song you hear is a folky guitar driven Bowie cover, and then the next song is an unbelievably cool guitar version of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice." The original's are just as good, with a wicked full force mandolin, and a distinctive feel that just sounds good."

"This album is hard to find b/c it's good, and b/c the record company, Watermelon records I think, went bust, I think. The Gourds new record company is Sugar Hill Records. Also signed Sam Bush and other bluegrass favorites."

"Answers the question: What would happen if Snoop Doggy Dogg were a country fan? The results are danceable, laughable, and undeniably entertaining. Other notable tracks include a cover of Ziggy Stardust and a rendition of Trouble, a traditional song."
