Lived Wired Jazz With Funk Elements: Give It A Try

"Man, why is the track "European Comfort" so tightly-produced and pleasant sounding? All the instruments are synchronized and I hear melody seeping out from every corner. Drummer/percussionist/bassist/composer Gota's acid jazz-labeled 'It's So Different Here' is quite different- it uses the finest musicians. "All Alone" is just good ol' smooth jazz. "Change" has an intro that sounds like Shaft (which is bad), but is laced with background vocals that resemble Lisa Stanfield (which is good). It's kind of a retro-dance number. "Play Fair" with its three vocal lines and twangy guitars spice it up a little. "Chillin' Children" has a chilled-out beat. "Live Wired Electro" has some bangin' drums/synths and is hard to classify, except to say it sounds funky. "Move," again, retreats to retro w/ a nice rhythm. "Sensual Wave" is mellow and complex in its transitions. "Give It A Try" is straight. "Groove Ride" is... groove. The songs I did not mention are the songs that irked me. Why? Because the vocalist & the lyrics that accompany her are cheesy. "It's So Different Here" is one of the worst songs I lacking ingredient that could've livened this up is the addition of a violin. Not subtracting from the album, however, "European Comfort" makes up for that and then some. Tightly produced jazz-meets-funk album with some nice cuts. All 'n all, a must have for the acid jazz fan."
A refreshing and fabulous way to relax.

"The style of music that I have come to enjoy since returning to the United States from having lived in Europe has helped me to discover artists such as this and find his music and style to be relaxing and very enjoyable. The talents of the numerous musicians who are on this CD have made a fabulous contribution to this style of easy listening jazz.Gota is not a name that I had been familiar with but, am hoping that this artist will continue to florish in producing such wonderful sounds. I appreciate the beautiful talents that musicians can possess. Gota has a great mind for what sounds good. I look forward to him producing more enjoyable CDs and I thank Amazaon.com for having him listed in their category of Jazz. I will certainly shop with you more often knowing that you provide such a valuable and easy way to shop. Thank you."
Raving. A must buy

"For all Jazz fans that want something more. This album features one of the coolest music and more. Although, it spots an Acid Jazz label, it does not have the usual heavy tunes found in so many Acid Jazz tunes. Plus, the vocal tracks featured in the album really make the CD a great buy. Don't just take my word for it. Buy it...I am sure you will like it!"
Indescribly delecious!!

""It's so different here" proves that Gota is truly one of the most talented international artists of today. This is a CD which you will play over and over again, never tiring of even one song. Also, though "Let's get started" is also a "must have", it doesn't come close to matching this "jewel" of a CD."
