Subtitled - In Conspiracy With Satan. 2003 album on Nuclear Blast featuring previous members of Emperor, Satyricon, Mayhem, Borknager, Immortal, Aeturnus and Obtained Enslavement.
"This album is a freaking masterpiece. I was a little surprised when the whole album wasn't as intense as the first (and amazing) track 'Procreating Satan', but that doesn't mean the rest of the album isn't killer. The vocals are sinister, and parts of 'Exit-Through Carved Stones' even creeped me out a bit. The guitars, while appearing more typical metal-ish than black metal, are still genius and infectious. Add in some drums that really hook, and you've got one incredible album that you can not help but bob your head to.
Of all the 8 tracks, only one isn't a song, and that is the last track "Domine in Virtute tua Laetabitur Rex'. Thumbs up to Gorgoroth for not sticking that one in the middle of the album so I don't have to skip it. Out of the 7 remaining songs, the first 4 songs really stand out, as does 'Blod og Minne'.
'Twilight of the Idols- in conspiracy with Satan' may be a short album, but it seriously delivers. Worthy of being listened to over and over and over and over...

Evil Masterwork

"Make no mistake, Twilight is a great piece of music and a masterwork. A combination of furious guitars, keen drumming, violent vocals (provided by the great Ghaal) and sometimes odd effects, industrial noises, and a keyboard piece make this a truely black and evil album.
Though some may say it makes little ground compared to Destroyer or Incipit Satan, this album is more together than the others. While Destroyer is all over the place, and Incipit Satan goes from great to mediocre, Twilight is a refined and finished piece from start to finish.

"Not a shabby tune in the bunch. The opening track is on the verge of white noise and then goes into some insane mixed vocals-- very nice track.
The overall sound is pretty raw, noisy, and weaves in and out of slow, gloomy sludge into blazing grind. Very brutal album, worthy of your hard earned cash..."
True Black Metal(Minus a little feeling)....

"Alright the new Gorgoroth, usually a milestone in my life, lets you down a little. I love all Gorgoroth albums, even the much-detested Destroyer and Incipit Satan. This one has the usual euro-infected thrash riffs Infernus has become notorious for in the last few years. Yes, it's heavy, yes it's fast, and yes, it's necro!! But much of what made Gorgoroth special, the ambiance, is gone. What happened to being able to write songs like Sorg, Gorgoroth, and Katharinas Bortgang? I think part of the problem lies in the songwriting. Usually all songs are composed by Infernus alone, this time he let King Of Hell(bass) write like 80 Percent of the songs??? What the hell is wrong with him?? Don't get me wrong, any Gorgoroth is better than 99 percent of so-called black metal. But we need the scuzz-ambiance back. Any band can recycle Exodus riffs. Gorgoroth needs to Destroy...which they almost do."
TRUE BM

"Almost every comment i've heard about this band is that it is 'true' norwegian black metal. Of course it's a good sign that 'bands like this' include satyricon emperor and darkthrone, cause this is definitely in that vein. And i don't think all BM fans will ever agree on any one thing, but i would say this is, in fact, TRUE black metal, this is good stuff. Even showing off how idiotic the world is because they censored the cover (which you'll see WHEN you get it), and its more brutal than darkthrone or satyricon, but has moments where you could be listening to either of those. This is worth buying easily if you're into : darkthrone, satyricon, emperor, genocide kommando, marduk, all the best basically, and if i seem kinda luke-warm about the cd with only 4 stars, i'm just saving 5 for legendary, this is a healthy 'classic', and even better than i expected it to be, as a last word, dont let a priest hear the last minute or so of the first song..."
