"There are many.many versions of the Goldberg Variations extant.Of corse some are on Harpsichord, some on Piano.A mention of this title immediately brings to mind the name of Glenn Gould.Like his style or not,he made the public aware of this wonderful selection. With Ito Ema,we have another choice, more traditional perhaps but filled with dynamism, boldness and accuracy. The secret, the incredible recording techniques of m.a recordings and the piano! The performance is on a 1903 Steinway! I did a direct comparison of this CD vs.my LP recording of Gould's Goldbergs and I was surprised to favor Ito Ema by a wide margin! Try it and I hope that you will be as pleased and for that matter try any of the m.a recordings to sample the best dynamics available in the Cd format."
