The Ornament by Gold Leaves is a collection of songs that tip the hat to Richard Hawley, Scott Walker/Walker Brothers, and the sound of late 70's AM radio pop. Songs that sound like sunlight coming up after an all night drive through the Redwoods. Gold Leaves is Grant Olsen of Arthur & Yu fame, and together with producer Jason Quever, of Papercuts fame, Olsen has made the album of his dreams, the album that has lived in his head. The Ornament is riddled with beautiful and optimistic swaying string and piano arrangements, lumbering bass booms,angelic back ups and Olsen's feather pillow voice.
