"The CD/DVD 'Live From Axis Mundi' is DEFINITELY worth adding to the collection of any lover of gypsy music, Ukrainian music styles, punk rock, or just high energy music! Eugene Hutz and the band know how to have fun onstage, and the DVD doesn't let up for a minute. I haven't yet had the opportunity to see Gogol Bordello in person, but this is the next best thing. And the CD is a keeper, too, just because of the variety of demos and otherwise rare tracks (a personal favorite of mine being 'Alcohol'). Admittedly, I've got everything currently on the market by these guys, but what I'm seeing & hearing just seems to be getting better & better!"

"Amazingly good, loud and so much fun! Every song on here is a winner. The DVD includes live and video performances. If you're a fan, you should own this!"

"If you are looking to top off your Gogol Bordello collection with a selection of live recorded tracks and a concert DVD, then this is a must-have. For a great price you get the live show, and so long as you don't suffer from any photo-optic-strobic effects created by pulsating red and blue lights, then this is all treat. On top of that there are a collection of bonus videos in the special features section, and a CD for your car that features entirely different recordings. This ain't one of those cheesey releases where the CD and the DVD are of exactly the same show (yes I mean you Cold Play) but a tasty smorgasbord served up from the seamy Bordello part of town. For the Gogol virgin, this would also rate as a fantastic audio-visual deflowering. Gypsy punk live, the violin bow sawed and shredded (just like Vivaldi intended) the accordion synthesized through an echo chamber rendering a post-apocalyptic supertheoretical sound, Hutz lurching and prancing, laying into his musically-damaged firebucket suspended over the mic, or using the mic itself to play metal washboards hung on the backs of the Gogol chicks. A sweaty Underground gypsy fireside sound ingested by New York's hiphop-Spanishreggae stomach that leaves your neurons elektrified by eclecticification."

"This cd was made for their fans. I happen to adore them and it features different acoustics to some of the songs from Gypsy Punks and Super Taranta! There are additionally a few other songs that are not from those two albums. The DVD was extra special to me because I was at one of the two shows where it was recorded. It is definitely a must have for anyone who plans on seeing Gogol Bordello live and wants to know what they are in for!"

"Gogol Bardello is one of those bands that you need to be in the know to understand. I was first introduced to them when they played with Madonna on Al Gore's Love 8 concerts.
The idea is a clever one: take traditional gypsy music and combine it with hardcore punk sensibilities. The end result is a stage production that feels like a Eastern European block party on acid.
The Dvd part of this set offers up one of the Band's gigs from 2007 recorded live over two nights at Irving Plaza in New York. The show features hits like Start Wearing Purple and Wanderlust King along with a good bit of the ingredients that make the music more fun then would be thought on first glance.
This is a band which is tailored to New York's young and hip crowd and its should not be missed if one is given the oppurtunity to catch them live. Live fropm Axis Mundi is a good reason and oppurtunity to get aquainted with the band and its music"
