Not enough power behind the punch

"This was a pretty solid CD for The Go! Team. However it fell pretty flat about half way through for me. After Thunder, Lightening, Strike, this just didn't feel as polished or have as big of a wow factor to really feel like it was from the same band. Still a good CD though and definitely worth buying!"

"I loved their first album "Thunder, Lightning, Strike" but I actually took this CD back to the store and got a refund because I could genuinely say to the person behind the counter that, however much I wanted to support this band, this was a lame album. It was more of the same as their first, but poorly executed. It's undoubtedly quite a task to make these clanging soundscapes listenable for a whole album (something they achieved on the first due to it having more textures, melodies and hooks). I feel they could have shifted the formula completely for this sophomore effort, or at least done as good a job as the first. Ultimately it was a grand disappointment for me. So if you don't have an album of theirs, get the first one. And hopefully their next album will be a step forward."
