"I listened to this album a few years ago, but in contrast to all other HB records, I didn't feel the need to buy it. Some tracks contains these cheesy, standardized pseudo-techno beats, pretending to be modern. The melodies are weaker than on other HB albums, and the whole CD sounds as if it was done in a hurry. Better check out HB's collaboration with XTC's singer Andy Partridge, "Through the hill"."
Too much dubbed percussion

"I own all of the Budd releases. This CD is less piano and more sonic wash w/ Zazou's percussion, most of which does little to take the songs into different territories. Budd recites some poetry on this disk, like he did on DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT (which is a better release)."
If you like thick beats and smokey atmospheric Piano..

"You will love this incredible masterpiece by two of this century's best contributors to new music. This is nothing like other records which preceed it and certainly my favorite record of 1997. This used to be very hard to find, so if you can get it.. buy it now. I'm a producer myself and look towards people like Harold Budd and Hector Zazou for inspiration and new concepts in pop and beyond. Let this work of poetry work its magic on you. FILE UNDER AMBIENT DOWN TEMPO"
"As a recent admirer of Budd's minimalist style and experiments I must recommend this album to anyone with eclectic musical taste. Not only are there several interesting poems read throughout the album but also a mix of style and instrumentation with hues from trumpet and sampled beats containing elements of classical/jazz and quite an innovative approach toward modern ambient and techno varieties. Some of the beats are a bit repetitive but the subtle piano variations keep it interesting. I am surprised this album has no reviews yet considering it is the first album from Budd that seemed most appealing from the samples provided by Amazon. Some songs take a little patience to get started but are worth the wait. This is a very chill album which is good for relaxing and I suppose equally good for background music during stimulating conversations because it is thought provoking. The Harold Budd and Clive Wright collaborations are just as good if not better considering there are two albums of material available. ENJOY!"
