A nice Gospel album, but not his best!

"I first heard "I Surrender All" on a What's New sampler. The host said, "our next guest, Glen Campbell, needs no introduction. He's recorded over 40 albums, has several Gold and Platinum records, and he loves Jesus." My review is of the complete cassette. This was the 2nd album he recorded for Word. Maybe it's because my religious background's a little different. But this goes to all country singers recording Gospel albums, especially hymns. Could you up the tempo a little bit? It's OK if folks want to clap their hands and tap their feet a little. Ironically, the best track on this album, "Tall Oak Tree," isn't technically a hymn. Unlike many recent albums, Glen handles the lead guitar chores. There are many nice performances here. As I said in a previous review, this album should have been represented on his "Jesus and Me" collection. Glen's best Christian albums are those he recorded for the New Haven label in the early 90s. They're on CD. Check them out! Now we need Glen to cut more of those albums."
