Old school girlschool

"If you missed this band in the early eighties as they toured with the likes of Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and the Scorpions, you missed a power band. Forget the moniker of a girl band, these "humans" cranked out some awesome rock comparable to anyone of their time or since. If your looking for a great band to head bang to, drive fast, show your kids "your" generation was cool, or show your parents that the 80's were cool, what the hell happened to you?..then this is a great choice. I'd avoid the King Biscuit Flower Hour CD,pretty marginal sound quality, but this collection is an amazing piece of work."
These Women Could Really Rock !!!

"While most all girl bands like The Bangles and The Go Gos were "playing it safe" and recording Pop Rock these ladies knocked down a few walls and shattered lots of windows with their driving Hard Rock sound. This band was unique because they managed to be commercially appealling with a Heavy Metal Edge which is no mean feat. The guitar work and riffs on this CD are just great and Girlschool proved once and for all that women could Rock with the best of them.Naturally 5 stars for this CD."
Girlschool - 'Very Best Of .....' (Sanctuary)

"Even though this 14 track 'best of' compilation appears to be one of those run-of-the-mill cheaply manufactured compilations,it's anything but that. There were a couple of tracks here that I haven't heard ages, like "1-2-3-4 Rock 'N Roll",the *ss-kicking "I'm The Leader Of The Gang" and "Please Don't Touch"(performed with Motorhead).Plus, there are some unmatchable Girlschool material present such as "C'mon Let's Go","Race With The Devil"(my personal Girlschool favorite)and their decent T.Rex cover "20th Century Boy".Nice!"
