"Do yourself a favor. If you happen to fall in love with this album and the Gipsy Kings, keep it a nice little secret. Loose lips will only immerse you in a heated debate about whether all these guitars and energy, these raspy but somehow harmonious voices, and this repertoire of love and agony truly represent Europe's Roma ('Gypsy'; note the spelling difference in the band's name).
Then you'll lose a lot of time that you could have invested in listening to this music. Not a good idea.
Back in the 90s, the Gipsy Kings made their transient way through the North American airwaves as the Roma people do through the cities and towns of Europe. Then they were gone.
But not forgotten, since a plethora of 'Greatest Hits' albums allows you to choose which shuffling of GK's limited repertoire of greatest hits you'd like to own. For some odd reason, this music goes down particularly well at barbecues and outside parties. I recall one particularly hot afternoon over a pizza by myself in an outside cafe in Tel Aviv where this album was blaring from an adjacent restaurant's loudspeakers. It all seemed to fit.
You might feel the same, whether these tunes turn out to be authentic Roma or just fun."

"Normally you only like a handful of songs on a CD but with this one you love all of them! This music is so inspiring, energetic, emotional, everything you want out of music it is even soothing. I would highly recommend buying one of the Gipsy Kings CD's. They are awesome!"
