"I must admit I'm not a big fan of new arrangements of songs I love. Guess it's just another example of my not liking change. But this CD works for me.It consists of one new song ("Let Them Hear") and completely new arrangements of seven songs from her previous two releases ("Free," "I Am," "With Me," "I Am Nothing," "Something More," "True Story," and "Run to You"). The arrangements here are "stripped down," featuring Ginny on the piano with light drum and orchestral backing. The songs are not necessarily recognizable from the intro, but once Ginny starts singing, I'm singing right along. To my surprise, it actually works well. Part of that is the strong lyrics, and the new song is just as wonderful as the classics presented here. It took a couple listens to get used to the new arrangements, but now it doesn't bother me at all.Ginny's fans will love this CD, especially for the price. It's a different feel that works well."
A Beautiful "Blueprint"

"In the light of the recent trend of remix albums in Contemporary Christian Music these days, a different approach to revamping old tunes is refreshing. Although acoustic albums are not anything new, i.e. the MTV Unplugged series, in CCM only Petra has tried this, and failed. So I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I picked up this EP from an artist that is not even my favorite. But it is a lovely [basic] set, that puts Ginny's lyrics upfront. And the lyrics, all written and co-written by this blind, but talented, singer-songwriter, are quite stirring. From the God-as-artist point of view on "True Story" to the soft jazz of "With Me" her startling view of life is quite welcome. "I Am Nothing" based on 1 Corinthians 13, in which the importance of leading Bible study and choir, being well respected and being able to "sing like an angel/songs so humble and so thankful/full of drama and emotion" takes a back seat to love, is an important (but not pushy) lesson. The new track "Let Them Hear" is a prayer to God, thanking Him for using her to further his work. It's quite beautiful. Kudos to fellow artist Margaret Becker for helming this bells-and-whistles free project and allowing Owens's lyrics to take the forefront. And the band is made up of Nashville's best, like Scott Dente on guitar, Matt Slocum on cello and Ginny herself at the piano. The enhanced portion of the CD has just the music video for the original version of "With Me", it would have been nice to include some other stuff, but the music is well worth the price, even without any extras.Bottom Line: Lyric focused, for introspective listeners and truth seekers."

"Ginny Owens "Blueprint" has captured my heart. Ginny's voice is beyond proper description. "I Am Nothing" is my favorite song on this cd, however, I love everything about this cd. I am taken by Ginny's sincere lyrics which soothe my soul.Worth owning, sit back and enjoy this wonderfully talented lady as she sings to us about God."
