"Cajun fiddle player, Floyd Gib Guilbeau has long been one of the great unsung heroes of the country-rock movement. He had been part of the 1960s Los Angeles group Nashville West with Gene Parsons and Clarence White before he and Parsons joined the Flying Burrito Brothers in 1974/75.
This is a collection of released and unreleased songs with Gib Guilbeau. Three songs came from sessions with Clarence White, Gene Parsons and Wayne Moore (yes that's the original Nashville West line-up). Clarence White plays an fantastic intro on "Home of the blues" - maybe the best he ever did on his String Bender guitar. CD starts with an unreleased song, a duet with Mel Tillis! A few songs are from the unreleased Burrito Brothers album "Our roots are country music" with John Beland, produced by Randy Scruggs.
"Careless lover" from 1986 features his son, Ronnie, who was a member of country-rock band "Palomino Road", on guitar, drums and background vocals.
Musicians on the CD are: Clarence White, Gene Parsons, Wayne Moore, John Beland, Earl Scruggs, Buddy Cannon, Ronnie Guilbeau, Hoot Hester, The Jordanaires, Jerry Douglas and more ...
This CD is a must have for Country and Country Rock fans!!"
