"Formed in 2005 Ghost Brigade are a relatively new group and have gained popularity through steady touring and by fans on Myspace. Isolation Songs is the bands second release and personal is the better of the two. The previous album Guided by Fire focused more on the heavier points where as Isolation Songs levels out the melody and the heavier parts. Though don't be discouraged as the band packs quite a punch in the heaviness department showing some intense duel lead guitar and very aggressive yelling/screaming.



The melodic parts where acoustics and keyboards are utilized truly show a drastic contrast to the roaring Melo Death leads. Further more vocalist Manne Ikonen's gritty yelling tone contrasts nicely with his very well done clean vocals and many of the Chorus' such as the one heard on 'My Heart Is A Tomb' are catchy enough to ensure them a steady following of fans. The overall sound comes off a Melodic Death to me but with a darker overtone and is worth a listen. I would also like to add that this album strongly reminds me of Insomnium's latest release Across the Dark which follows in the same vein of Melodic acoustics and Melo Death leads."
