"The 'Gevatron' have been a part of the Israeli music-scene for over fifty years. They are a group of Kibbutz folk- singers whose songs often touch upon the Israeli national experience. They sing of the time of kibbutz - settlement, of the land, of the pioneers of Israel in songs like 'Emek' and ' Emek Sheli'. They sing of the Israeli experience in struggling for Independence ( Ha- Krav Ha'Acharon).
Their sound is full- throated chorale and it is hard to miss their roots in Russian popular music. Through the years they have developed a sound of their own which most often is upbeat and invigorating."
